Frequently asked questions

Does VGRILL cook bone-meats?

Unlike a flat grill, the VGrill can cook meat with bones, such as rib eye, rack of lamb, pork chops, chicken wings, drumsticks and duck legs.

What happens to the fat?

High-fat proteins, such as bacon or pork, cook well in the VGrill as the fat is released during cooking and collected in the drip tray, rather than being consumed.

Can I use bamboo skewers in the grill?

Yes. Both metal and bamboo skewers can be used in the VGrill. Meat and vegetables grill well on skewers.

Is the meat still tasty if the fat is removed?

Yes. The dual radiant heat panels sear the meat while helping retain the juices, giving you great flavour even as excess fat is released.

Can I cook vegetables in the VGrill?

Yes. Vegetables such as tomato, capsicum, zucchini, asparagus and small chat-size potatoes work well in the VGrill.

Can I cook fruit in the VGrill?

Yes. Fruits such as halved peaches, pears and apples work well in the VGrill. You can also cook bananas in their skin and pineapple rings.

Do I need to use the VGrill under an extraction fan?

No. The VGrill is designed for safe indoor domestic use and does not require ventilation or a commercial exhaust system.

Can I cook bread slices in the grill?

Yes. The VGrill is ideal for toasting thick slices of bread, day-old baguette, rolls and burger buns.

Can I re-heat pizza in the VGrill?

Yes. Leftover pizza reheats well in the VGrill.

What thickness basket should I use?

More information will be available when additional basket sizes are offered.

Where can I buy replacement grill parts?

Replacement grill parts will be available to purchase soon.

Where can I see the VGrill being demonstrated?

TBD

Is Vgrill portable?

Yes. The VGrill is portable, especially for use in outdoor kitchens, powered caravans or powered camping setups.

How much electricity does the grill use?

2kW–6kW

How do you clean fat from the VGrill drip tray?

It is easier to clean than a conventional grill within an oven.

  1. Scrape the excess fat and meat juices out of the drip tray with a rubber spatula.
  2. Detach the silver, metal slide overlay from the catch tray.
  3. Place both parts face down in the top section of the dishwasher, or hand-wash in hot, soapy water.
